The first baseball stadium was built in Pittsburgh in 1909, the first piano in America was built in Philadelphia in 1775,

Benjamin Franklin started the country’s first zoo in Philadelphia, the first daily newspaper was published in Philadelphia, in 1784, the first department store in the U.S. was located in Philadelphia. It was called Wanamaker’s.

Relocating to this state is relocating to a very historic state. The Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia in 1776 and is housed in Independence Hall. It is also home to the Liberty Bell.

Pennsylvania was the only colony of the original thirteen that did not border the Atlantic Ocean. Philadelphia was once the capital city of the United States.

The Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg is the site of Gettysburg Battlefield, where in 1863 this Civil War battle was responsible for 51,000 casualties over a three-day period. 

For one season in 1943, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers merged to form the “Steagles” due to the loss of many players during WWII.
