And here are some fun facts about your new home: Louisiana has more Native American tribes than any other southern state. The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is the longest bridge over water in the world – 24 miles long. New Orleans is known as the Jazz Capital of the world. Louisiana is the only state with parishes instead of counties. At 450 feet tall, Louisiana’s state capitol building is the tallest in the United States. The first opera ever performed in the U.S. took place in the French Quarter of New Orleans in 1796. New Orleans’ famous Saint Charles streetcar is one of the only two mobile national monuments in the US.

(3) Persons could land in jail for up to ten years for stealing an alligator.

(5) It is illegal to shoot lasers at police officers.
